BOISE, Idaho (CBS2 News) — It is officially the spooky season, and there are no shortages of Oktoberfests for you to enjoy! There is a celebration in downtown Meridianthis weekend from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can experience live music, food, cornhole, amateur boxing and beer, of course.
You cannot have Oktoberfest without Dogtoberfest. On Saturday from 1-5 p.m., you can bring your furry friend to Indian Creek Plaza. You are encouraged to dress your pups in costumes while you enjoy some seasonal brews.
Another event for your dog is on Saturday: the 31st annual See Spot Walk. The Idaho Humane Society will host the event at Julia Davis Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be food, vendors and yet another dog costume competition.
Back to events for people, the Idaho Cider Fest runs Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. You can visit Freak Alley downtown to celebrate the region's cider culture. There will be games, including cornhole, putt-putt golf and giant connect four.
TheIdaho Senior Expois also happening on Saturday. Head to Expo Idaho from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn about health, activity and planning. You can also shop for products, services and activities for Idaho seniors. This event is a great resource for anyone planning ahead or caring for a loved one.
