Tyne Daly is an American actress. She is the daughter of Hope Newell (Mary Hope Newell) and James Daly (James Firman Daly), both actors, and the sister of actor Tim Daly.
She has three children, including actress Kathryne Dora Brown, with her former husband, Cuban-born actor and director Georg Stanford Brown. Her nephew is actor Sam Daly. Her uncle was screenwriter, author, and humorist George Kirgo, who was married to her mother’s sister.
Tyne’s paternal grandfather was Percifer Charles “Percey” Daly (the son of John Daly and Elizabeth Nancy Smith). Percifer was born in Grand Rapids, Wood, Wisconsin, and was manager of the Daly Ice and Coal Company. John was born in McKean County, Pennsylvania, to Irish parents, Eugene Daly and Martha McDowell. Elizabeth was the daughter of William G. Smith and Martha Ann Cooper.
Tyne’s paternal grandmother was Dorothy Ethelbert Hogan (the daughter of John Francis Hogan and Martha Ellen/Helen “Mattie” Jones). Dorothy was born in Neenah, Winnebago, Wisconsin. John was born in Phillipsburg, Warren, New Jersey, to Irish parents, Matthew/Mathew Hogan/Hogen and Ellen/Hellen Tyne, who were from County Tipperary. Martha was the daughter of Ruse Jones and Rosana McGyn.
