Young and the Restless (Y&R) Eric Braeden recently offered support to fellow colleagues after a racist social media user targeted some cast members.
A user on X/Twitter has been tweeting racist posts about BIPOC soap stars recently, starting with General Hospital’s (GH) Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson), and then turned to their attention to some Y&R stars.
Y&R Star Eric Braeden Had Enough
The vile X user posted a photo of the Y&R’s Christel Khalil (Lily Winters), Sean Dominic (Nate Hastings), and Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James), stating the three were “ruining” the show and that she couldn’t wait for someone to put these three “slaves in their place”.
Yvette Nicole Brown, Community Star, confronted the X user on Thursday, June 20 and made the official Y&R X handle aware of the tweets. Brown points out the GH X account already blocked the user because of their hateful posts.
Braeden replied to Brown’s tweet, stating, “These three actors [Dominic, Khalil, and James] are dear colleagues of mine; they have more class than you LOW LIFE can imagine! We are going to block your racist ass, you got that, b***h??!!”
Of course, Braeden got a ton of support from fellow Y&R fans, applauding his statement.
General Hospital Issued A Statement On Social Media Last Week
GH posted a message on their social media handles in support of Tabyana Ali and the hateful comments she’s had to endure, last week. The message stated, “General Hospital does not tolerate hatred or bigotry of any kind. Racism has no place in Port Charles. #GH is for everyone.”
Ali retweeted the post on X, stating, “I appreciate you so much ABC/GH.”
GH co-stars came to Ali’s side on social media to support her, including Genie Francis (Laura Collins) and Maura West (Ava Jerome), among others.
It’s nice to see soap stars coming together in unity and supporting their fellow colleagues. It’s a shame that racist social media trolls exist; however, here’s hoping that as many people have raised their hands in solidarity, this will help place an end to hateful messages.
